Supported by the National Cancer Institute, this interdisciplinary team aims to develop innovative and noninvasive diagnostic tools to improve detection and monitoring of cancer, prenatal diseases, and neurodegenerative disorders. The research focuses on liquid biopsy components, particularly extracellular vesicles (EVs), as surrogates of disease lesions, by integrating analyses of EV biomolecular cargoes, including mRNA content, surface protein markers, and protease activity, to capture disease-specific signatures.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Highly motivated
• Ability to work effectively within a dynamic and interdisciplinary team
• Expertise in liquid biopsy concepts and methodologies
• Knowledge of extracellular vesicle (EV) biology and their role as disease surrogates
• Proficiency in biomolecular cargo analysis techniques, including mRNA content, surface protein markers, and protease activity assays.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Molecular Biology
• Cell Biology
• Biochemistry
• Bioengineering
