**Job Description**
This Research Assistant position within Dr. Andrew McKenzie’s group at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) focuses on investigating type-2 immunity in health and disease. The role involves supporting research into the molecular circuits regulating immune cell function in disease models, utilizing techniques such as CRISPR-screens, single cell analysis, and novel genetically modified mouse models, building upon recent breakthroughs.

• Basic bench work skills.
• Experience or theoretical knowledge of basic molecular biology skills/techniques (e.g., PCR, gene cloning).
• Cell culture.
• Tissue processing.
• Western blot.
• Ability to plan and carry out experiments, collate and analyse data.
• Understanding of lab health and safety.
• Proven skills in working independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision; good judgment in assessing when to ask for support.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

**Experience**

• Previous experience in the field of immunology or haematopoiesis (Desirable).
• Practical experience of running and maintaining scientific equipment (Desirable).
• Experience of giving presentations (Desirable).
• Has made contributions to scientific papers (Desirable).
