**Job Description**
This Researcher position in the Department of Biology at the University of Minnesota, Duluth (UMD) involves conducting surveys of wild blueberries and related species (dwarf bilberry, lingonberry) in Northeastern Minnesota. The primary objective is to assess their reproductive health through detailed measurements of plant density, flower, and fruit production, and to collect samples for genetic health assessment. The role aims to address critical knowledge gaps regarding the genetic and reproductive health of these species, particularly concerning the impact of clonal growth on genetic diversity and berry production, which can lead to population decline.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Computer literacy including MS Excel or other spreadsheet program
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and solve problems
• GIS experience
• Experience with experimental design and implementation
• Experience with genetic data generation and analysis
• Previous experience with plant reproductive health measurements in the field

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biology / Environmental Science or related field
• BA/BS degree, or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal four years
