**Job Description**
Seeking a highly motivated researcher to conduct research in modelling and monitoring forest growth. The project focuses on developing models for various forest types and tree species, in both heterogeneous forests and monocultures, utilizing data from existing experiments, remote sensing, and drone monitoring. The developed models are intended to feed into applied decision support systems. The successful candidate will join the silviculture unit, working within a team focused on forest management for multi-use purposes, addressing climate change adaptation and different forestry intensities, using empirical and process-based modelling with data from the National Forest Inventory and long-term experiments.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Proven experience in data analysis and modelling of tree and stand data, described in scientific publications and/or thesis.
• Previous experience of in-field practical knowledge on drone and remote sensing techniques (extra merit).
• Experience of the tree species in northern Europe (extra merit).
• Interest in teaching and supervision of undergraduate students.
