**Job Description**
A PhD position is available for individuals with a background in bioinformatics or AI/ML who wish to apply computational skills to discover new insights in industrially important bacteria. The role involves close collaboration with experimental biologists to understand data generation and test computational predictions in the lab. The project focuses on mining Actinomycete genomic, transcriptomic, and metabolomic datasets to investigate their transcriptional regulatory networks, with a goal of developing next-generation biocontrol agents. An external stay at the Korea Advanced Institute for Science & Technology (KAIST) is included.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Proficiency with Python
• Experience implementing various Machine Learning algorithms and interpreting their outputs
• Experience generating and using protein embeddings
• Solid understanding of genomics and molecular biology
• Knowledge of bacterial secondary metabolism (major advantage)
