**Job Description**
The Research Fellow will join the Environmental Epidemiology team at the Sydney School of Public Health, focusing on research questions related to health, air quality, climate, and the built environment. This role involves applying epidemiological study designs and biostatistical modelling to health and environmental data, with a strong emphasis on translating research results into policy and practice within the health sector, government, industry, and the community.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Familiarity with and experience analyzing administrative health data, including linked health data (preferably NSW Health data assets).
• Experience building high spatial and temporal resolution environmental exposure models.
• Experience processing environmental data with high spatial and temporal resolution to assign localized exposure.
• Ability to perform operations on geospatial data from various input formats (e.g., ESRI shapefiles, GeoTIFF raster data, NetCDF files, geojson).
• Experience sourcing and processing environmental exposure and health administration data via Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
• Proficiency using statistical programming software such as R, SAS, STATA, and Python, and GIS platforms.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biostatistics

• Master of Biostatistics or an equivalent amount of skills and experience.
• Preferably experience in relation to environmental epidemiological research questions and related study designs.
