**Job Description**
A Post-doctoral Research Fellow position is available in the Fungal Immunology Group at the University of Birmingham. The successful candidate will join a project team aiming to understand the in-host behaviour of fungal pathogens, utilizing in vivo models of fungal infection and established immunology techniques. The role involves investigating fungal adaptation and antifungal immunity in organ-specific environments, with a focus on expanding host-pathogen interaction skillset. The project is a collaboration with the University of Cape Town, offering opportunities for training in immunology, neuroscience, and microbiology.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Microbiology
• Immunology

**Experience**
Experience Required:
• First author publications in peer-reviewed journals
• Previous experience and strong interest in medical mycology, microbiology and/or fungal biology
• Substantial experience of cloning and microbial transformation
• Substantial experience in microbial genetics and sequencing
• Prior research success (e.g., publications/pre-prints, presentations at conferences, relevant academic prizes/travel awards)
