**Job Description**
The Skinnider Lab at Princeton University is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow or more senior researcher to conduct computational analysis of chemical and biochemical datasets. A primary focus involves identifying small molecules from mass spectrometry-based metabolomics data, utilizing generative AI models of chemical structures. The role also includes identifying emerging illicit drugs in seized products or clinical samples and developing user-friendly tools for broader community use. The research is computational, requiring close interaction with experimental collaborators and enthusiasm for data preprocessing and curation due to potentially low-quality or noisy data. This position offers mentorship and prepares candidates for competitive careers in academia or industry in computational biology/chemistry, machine-learning for biological/chemical data, and drug discovery/design.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Motivated
• Independent
• Strong written communication skills
• Programming skills (assessed via short exercises)
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Ph.D in computational biology, chemistry, biochemistry, computer science, biological or chemical engineering, forensic science, or a related field.
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• At least one first-author publication demonstrating experience in one or more of the following: computational biology/bioinformatics, cheminformatics, analytical chemistry/mass spectrometry/metabolomics, or machine learning/computer science.
