This project focuses on the targeted and non-targeted analysis of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in food packaging materials. The role involves developing and applying liquid chromatography (LC) and pyrolysis-gas chromatography (py-GC) methods coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry. It requires advanced data processing for non-targeted analysis, simultaneous quantification and identification of PFAS in samples from the market and industrial partners, and presenting findings in workshops.

• Strong proven background in analytical chemistry (non-targeted analysis of plastic related contaminants)
• Strong proven background in food science
• Strong proven background in food analysis
• Proficiency in different areas of chromatography
• Proficiency in high-resolution mass spectrometry
• Proficiency in data analysis
• Good spoken and written communication skills in English
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Chemistry
• Food Science
• Biochemistry
**Experience**
Other:
• Strong proven background (published work in peer-reviewed journals) in analytical chemistry (non-targeted analysis of plastic related contaminants), food science, and food analysis.
• At least two first-authored English papers (or three if co-first authors) with submitted, accepted or published status in peer-reviewed journals.
