**Job Description**
This interdisciplinary PhD project focuses on the coordinated operation and control of local energy systems, such as microgrids and industrial energy parks, to enhance the resilience and stability of electrical grids. The research will develop control strategies to provide grid support and ancillary services, and coordinate energy system operations to restore power supply during extreme events. It will also analyze regulatory and market frameworks, and business models for economic feasibility and fair value distribution.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in control and operation of distributed energy resources and microgrids
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in ancillary services and stability of electrical grids
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in power system simulation using tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory and MATLAB/Simulink
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in experimental studies of power systems utilizing real-time and hardware-in-the-loop tests
• Insights into regulatory and market frameworks, as well as business models
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a collaborative research team
• Ability to take responsibility for individual research objectives

• Must have a two-year master’s degree (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master’s degree.
