PhD position in Genomics – insights into anisakidosis

August 21, 2025

**Job Description**
This PhD position investigates an emerging zoonosis caused by anisakid nematode parasites using advanced genomic methods. The research aims to generate high-quality, chromosome-level reference genomes for selected species, quantify genome-wide divergence, and undertake historical and population comparisons. The study also promises insights into the role of parasitic marine nematode genomes in disease and the identification of potential gene targets for intervention, against the backdrop of increasing anthropogenic disturbance and climate change impacts on marine ecosystems.
