**Job Description**
Aalborg University invites applications for PhD stipends or integrated stipends within communication systems, focusing on representation, compression, learning, and inference for classical and quantum data. The positions, housed within the CLASSIQUE center, aim to revolutionize communication systems for the quantum age, addressing challenges at the intersection of real-time digital applications and time-constrained quantum resources. Projects will explore research and design challenges related to networked classical-quantum systems and quantum data processing.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Solid mathematical and analytical skills, including signal processing, optimization, or information theory
• Experience in programming (e.g., C++, Python or Matlab)
• Experience with quantum simulators (e.g., NetSquid) (preferred)
• Familiarity with the basic concepts of quantum information and quantum computing
• Curiosity to research and develop new solutions in collaboration
• Readiness to collaborate with researchers from other disciplines

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Electrical Engineering
• Communications Engineering
• Mathematical Engineering
• Mathematics
• Computer Science
For three-year stipends:
• MSc degree in a relevant field.
For integrated stipends:
• Currently enrolled in a relevant MSc programme.

Annual Salary: Competitive salary for PhD fellows (Part B of integrated stipends or standard 3-year PhDs) Position Classification: According to the collective agreement between the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations and the state (AC collective agreement) Benefits: Full employment benefits. For integrated stipends (Part A): Two SU-PhD Grants per month (each DKK 7,086 as of 2025 level, paid for a maximum of two years). Hourly paid work: 16 hours per month during Part A for 4+4 PhD students (e.g., teaching assignments, research assistance, dissemination).
