**Job Description**
This PhD fellowship focuses on “Dynamic genomes, invasive species: identifying genomic targets for sustainable biocontrol.” The project aims to understand genomic and epigenomic adaptations that facilitate successful invasions, crucial for bio-sustainable control measures. The candidate will use advanced genomic approaches to assemble, annotate, and explore the genome biology of invasive and non-invasive gastropods, employing cutting-edge comparative genomic analyses to address genome evolution and identify targets for responsible, sustainable control.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Solid knowledge and practical experience in molecular ecology, population genetics, and statistical and bioinformatic analyses.
• Interest in, and preferably prior experience with, genomic analysis and bioinformatics.
• Highly motivated, creative, and ambitious with an excellent academic record.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
• Proficiency in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language (advantage).

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biology
• Bioinformatics
• Genetics
• Molecular Ecology
• Related field

Other:
• MSc degree (or equivalent).
• Grade average of B or better (or equivalent score) for the program in total and the master’s thesis.
• Candidates already holding a PhD degree will not be considered.
• Must meet Nord University’s residency requirements.
