**Job Description**
The Climate Systems Engineering initiative (CSEi) at the University of Chicago invites applications for its 2026 cohort of Postdoctoral Researchers, to be appointed at the rank of Research Associate. The program seeks outstanding early career scholars interested in any aspect of climate engineering, including open-system carbon removal, solar geoengineering, and interventions to limit the loss of glacial ice. Research can span the sciences, humanities, social sciences, public policy, and law. The goal is to advance understanding of the benefits, risks, and governance of technologies that might reduce the impacts of accumulated greenhouse gases, educate students, and develop the next generation of research leaders in climate systems engineering.

Experience Required:
• Doctorate or other terminal degree appropriate to the field received within six years of the application deadline.

• Pre-matching with a UChicago faculty mentor (strongly preferred)
• Enthusiastic recommendation from the mentor (preferred)
