**Job Description**
Applications are invited for a 2-year postdoc position focusing on the Gut-Brain axis using a zebrafish model system. The role involves designing, conducting, and analyzing experiments to understand the impact of inflammation on the gut-brain axis. The project entails in vivo imaging of enteric neuronal activity and immune responses, generation of transgenic lines, RNAseq and immunofluorescence, and behavioural and immunological assays. The successful candidate will join a new lab investigating how the enteric nervous system, immune system, brain, and microbiome interact, with opportunities to develop projects based on existing experience and career goals.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Experience and an international track record in neuroscience, microbiology, or immunology.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively.
• Ability to direct and take ownership of research projects.
• Experience with the zebrafish model.
• Experience with imaging, especially in vivo imaging.
• Coding experience in Matlab, Python or R.
• Record of first-author publications or preprints.
• Success in competitive funding schemes/awards.
• Experience with inflammatory models.
