**Job Description**
The Polotsky Lab in the Department of Anesthesiology at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences is seeking an energetic, motivated Research Assistant. The lab’s primary objective is to discover novel treatments for cardiovascular and respiratory complications associated with obesity and sleep-disordered breathing. Under the supervision of a faculty investigator, the Research Assistant will assist in routine laboratory tests and experiments, including data collection, mouse experimental procedures, and preparing manuscripts for publication. Responsibilities also involve maintaining the daily functions of the mouse sleep laboratory and potentially assisting with mouse colony management and genotyping. The role supports research experiments encompassing molecular biology, histology, sleep recordings, and data analyses, and may include general lab maintenance. This position operates under immediate supervision and does not require independent judgment.
