**Job Description**
This collaborative research project within the VIB-Center for Inflammation Research focuses on understanding intercellular cascades in tissues, particularly in the liver, where a 4-cell module (hepatocytes, stellate cells, sinusoidal endothelial cells, Kupffer cells) drives identity changes in disease-like states. The role involves dual focus: analyzing spatial, single-cell, and multi-omics data in healthy, genetically perturbed, and regenerating livers, and developing algorithms to disentangle direct intercellular signals. Predictions from these computational methods will be validated using CRISPR-based in vivo perturbational approaches. The position is embedded in both experimental and computational teams, fostering an interdisciplinary atmosphere for deep computational modeling and direct experimental validation.
