**Job Description**
The Chair of Applied Mathematics at the KU Eichst�tt-Ingolstadt invites applications for a doctoral candidate position in Applied Mathematics/Approximation Theory. The research group operates at the intersection of analysis, modeling, and simulation. This position is partly funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) project “Kernel interpolation on Riemannian manifolds,” which focuses on the mathematical analysis of kernel-based methods, specifically their interpolation and approximation properties when applied to approximation on spherical surfaces and other Riemannian manifolds.
