**Job Description**
The Nanotechnology Centre and the Centre of Energy and Environmental Technologies at VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious postdoctoral scientist with a strong biological background. The role involves leading experimental work at the nano-bio interface, focusing on advanced nanomaterials and their interactions with cellular models in nanomedicine and nanotoxicology. The successful candidate will join an international team with access to state-of-the-art infrastructure for materials synthesis, characterization, and advanced biological testing.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Cell culture expertise
• Excellent scientific writing and communication skills in English
• Solid grasp of experimental design and statistics, including reproducibility and data management best practices
• Ability to independently solve complex scientific research tasks
• Proficiency in flow cytometry
• Proficiency in confocal/live-cell imaging
• Proficiency in high-content analysis (microplate reader)
• Proficiency in ELISA/multiplex cytokine assays
• Proficiency in qPCR/Western blot
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Cell/Molecular Biology
• Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Biomedical Sciences
• Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Toxicology
• Ph.D. (or equivalent) in a closely related field
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• ≥3 years (hands-on cell culture experience)
Other:
• Strong publication record commensurate with experience
• Experience with nanomaterials and nano-bio interfaces (colloidal stability (protein corona), cellular uptake/trafficking, lysosomal biology, autophagy/apoptosis/ferroptosis)
