**Job Description**
The University of Kansas’ Department of Physics and Astronomy is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to conduct experimental nuclear physics on the CMS Experiment. The role involves comprehensive participation in the nuclear physics research lifecycle, including detector operations, data analysis, event simulation, publication, proposal preparation, editorial work, presentation of results, outreach, and career development. The group focuses on high gluon density and photon-photon interactions, with responsibilities for current CMS Zero Degree Calorimeters and future ZDC construction for the high luminosity LHC. Opportunities for involvement in the EPIC experiment at the Electron Ion Collider and related simulation studies are also available.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Physics
• Related field
Other:
• Ph.D. in physics or related field by date of appointment.
• Previous on-site experience working at a running nuclear or high energy physics experiment.
• Willingness and ability to travel to Switzerland to spend time at the LHC.
