**Job Description**
Radboudumc is seeking a Ph.D. candidate to contribute to a prospective breast cancer screening trial focused on optimizing mammography interpretation with AI assistance. The project will involve a two-round screening of 84,000 women within the Dutch Breast Cancer Screening Program, integrating recent advancements in AI-based automated interpretation of medical images and new knowledge on the human visual system into the screening process. This initiative aims to radically change and improve the performance of breast cancer screening, leading to increased early cancer detection and a reduction in false alarms, ultimately making regional and national screening programs more effective and efficient. The role involves collaboration with breast screening radiologists, industry partners, and experts in visual perception, AI, and screening workflows.

• Affinity with biomedical research
• Experience with SPSS, SAS, or R
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluent in Dutch (written and spoken)
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
