Principal Researcher

**Job Description**
The Universidade de Coimbra is seeking to recruit one Principal Researcher in the scientific area of Physiology, specifically within the sub-area of Cerebral Neurovascular Physiology. This is a permanent, full-time position based at the Faculty of Medicine, established under a public employment contract and governed by the Scientific Research Career Statute (ECIC). The functional content for this role aligns with Article 6 of the ECIC.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Proficiency in Portuguese or English at C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
• Proven scientific and technological experience in multiphoton imaging
• Ability to generate new ideas, tools, methodologies, and knowledge
• Capacity to maintain highly relevant scientific output
• Ability to secure funding through competitive national and international programs and projects
• Experience in creating or enhancing experimental and/or computational laboratory infrastructures supporting research
• Involvement in national and international research networks and scientific outreach initiatives
• Application, enhancement, and transfer of knowledge, including in the technological dimension
• Guidance, development, or participation in training programs and/or training activities

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Physiology
• Cerebral Neurovascular Physiology

**Experience**
Experience Required:
• Doctoral degree awarded more than five years prior to the closing date of the application period
• h-index equal to or greater than 15 in Scopus
• At least 1000 citations in Scopus
• Proven scientific and technological experience in multiphoton imaging
• To be or have been principal researcher in projects with cumulative funding equal to or greater than 2 million euros
