**Job Description**
The Shi lab at Rutgers University in New Brunswick is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to conduct cutting-edge research in biophysical chemistry and cell biology. The lab integrates biophysical, chemical, and optical approaches to study biomolecular assemblies at the subcellular level, with current focuses on mechanical signaling pathways at the plasma membrane and the material properties of membraneless condensates in the cytoplasm. This research aims to uncover the physical chemistry underpinnings of cell biology and provide insights into disease mechanisms such as neurodegeneration and cancer. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team in a state-of-the-art facility.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong background in biophysics, mechanical or biomedical engineering, material science, biochemistry, or a related field.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Well trained in experimental biophysics or biochemistry.
• Experience in studying membranes, biomolecular condensates, neuroscience, and/or mechanobiology (preferred).
**Qualifications**
