**Job Description**
This two-year postdoc position is an opening in the NWO algosoc Project at TU Delft, focusing on the expansion and impact of computational infrastructures within public institutions, particularly in the justice sector. The role involves taking a technically informed political economic approach to empirically research how these infrastructures develop through shifts in software production and their influence on the administration of justice. The successful candidate will critically engage with these transformations to explore equitable socio-technical-economic futures, evaluate the reflection of changes in public imaginary, and analyze existing digital policies. This transdisciplinary role aims to conduct impactful research and contribute to public discourse.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Ability to conduct interdisciplinary literature research and empirical studies combining qualitative methods and perspectives from political economy
• Enthusiasm for engagement with current computational infrastructures (cloud + end devices concentrated in the hands of a few companies)
• Understanding of their technicalities, financials, or everyday practices underlying their production
• Critical perspective on technology production and institutional processes
• Experience working with technologists
• Clear research interest in the project topic
• Excellent written and spoken command of English, as demonstrated by publications in English-language journals
• Ability to conduct autonomous work in a transdisciplinary team
• Experience with organising workshops, lecture series, and similar events
• Based in the Netherlands sufficient time to collaborate with algosoc researchers and partake in project activities regularly
