Postdoctoral Fellow in Distributed Acoustic Sensing Related to CO2 Storage Monitoring

**Job Description**
The Department of Electronic Systems at NTNU has an opening for a Postdoc position in Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) within the CLIMIT DEMO project “Use of Fiber Optic Cables deployed at Seabed for Passive Seismic Monitoring of Northern Lights CO2 Project.” This project, led by NORSAR with NTNU as a key partner, aims to develop and test the effectiveness of seabed fibre optic cables for monitoring earthquakes and microseismic events during CO2 storage operations offshore Norway. The Postdoc will focus on characterizing and reducing offshore noise impacting DAS data and developing mathematical methods to enhance the detection of minor seismic events crucial for managing the CO2 storage project. The role involves close cooperation with The Centre for Geophysical Forecasting (CGF) at NTNU.

• Applicants in the final stage of their doctorate may be assessed if their PhD thesis has been submitted; documentation of the doctoral degree is required before taking up the position.
