Post Doctoral Scholar – Comprehensive Cancer Center

**Job Description**
The Post Doctoral Scholar will pursue specialized research training and experience under the guidance of Dr. Liping Yang at the Comprehensive Cancer Center. This role involves dissecting mechanisms driving the transformation of immunosuppressive cells within the tumor microenvironment (TME), identifying and characterizing novel factors contributing to the immunosuppressive landscape, and engineering targeted therapeutics to modulate the TME for safer and more effective cancer treatment. The research will utilize biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, molecular biology, proteomics, animal modeling and mouse genetics, translational medicine, and human tumor models of solid tumors (e.g., breast cancer, colon cancer, neuroblastoma). The scholar will also participate in analyzing data for grant submissions, train staff in molecular biology techniques and general laboratory skills, and assist the Principal Investigator with grant proposals to obtain external funding.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong background in immunology, cell biology, or cancer research
• Experience with mouse models, flow cytometry, and molecular biology techniques
• Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• First-author publication(s) in peer-reviewed journals (preferred)
• Experience with CRISPR-based functional screening (strong plus)

• Immunology
• Cancer Biology
• Molecular Biology
• Related field

**Experience**
Experience Required:
• Doctoral degree (obtained within 3 years)
Other:
• Extensive experience in a research capacity
