Responsibilities are focused on the technical aspects of cleaning, disinfecting, inspecting, sterilizing and putting together functional instruments and equipment for surgical services. The Central Processing Department supports Patient Care Services. Ambulatory Services and the Primary Care Network within the Health System by cleaning and disinfecting reusable equipment; and the cleaning, disinfecting and sterilization of surgical instrumentation used by these services. Central Processing cleans and restocks all emergency crash carts, PAPR supply carts, first responder bags, airway boxes and ICU transport bags.
