Scheduled Hours40Position SummaryThe Fetal Care Center Nurse Coordinator provides and coordinates care to pregnant women whose fetus has a suspected or diagnosed congenital anomaly.The Fetal Care Center is a team of specialists from Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) and pediatric specialists from St. Louis Children’s Hospital working together to diagnose and provide advanced treatment for fetal conditions.Maternal Fetal Medicine provides comprehensive family planning care, including the full-range of reproductive options, to reproductive-age women. We also provide general gynecologic care, including minor and major gynecologic surgery, to women of all ages.Our entire team is committed to providing patients outstanding care in a supportive, caring, and nonjudgmental environment.The Clinical Nurse Coordinator will work closely with our OB/GYN team supporting physicians with responsibilities such as patient phone triage, referrals, pre-authorizations, patient education, and coordination of care.We are seeking to hire a professional caring RN with OB/GYN experience with excellent communication and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.Job DescriptionPrimary Duties & Responsibilities:Provides direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients; completes health history and physical examination on patients; conveys findings to physician.Coordinates patient care, orders diagnostic tests, conveys findings to physician, attends inpatient rounds, coordinates patient appointments and assists with referrals to outside sources.Assists physician and provides support with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.Performs a variety of nursing administrative duties, including compliance with environmental safety regulations, infection control standards and quality assurance.Acts as liaison and team leader by facilitating communication and coordination of care between patients, families and health team members; explains routines and procedures to patients and coordinates patient care information to appropriate sources.Working Conditions:Job Location/Working ConditionsNormal office environmentExposure to blood-borne pathogensRequires protective devicesPatient care settingDirect patient care settingPhysical EffortTypically sitting at desk or tableTypically standing or walkingTypically bending, crouching, stoopingOccasional lifting (25 lbs or less)EquipmentOffice equipmentClinical/diagnostic equipmentThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by people assigned to this classification.
