Duties also include supporting the pediatric heart surgery program by assisting the pediatric cardiologist with transesophageal ultrasound exams intraoperatively; supporting the perinatologists by performing fetal cardiac exams; educating patients and their parents; and providing detailed written preliminary reports and assisting in billing.#CA-SBApply By Date10/24/2024 by 11:59pmMinimum QualificationsFor full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license, certification and/or educational degree if required of the position.Certified (RDCS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac SonographerExperience in pediatric echocardiography with current registration through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) [mandatory or within six (6) months of applying for the position].Must have knowledge of fetal cardiac embryology, congenital heart defects, cardiac hemodynamics and Palliative and/or corrective congenital heart surgical procedures.Skill to instruct, train and educate health providers in the assessment of congenital heart disease.Experience in providing detailed, concise written and/or oral preliminary reports regarding the patient’s cardiac anatomy and hemodynamic status for the interpreting pediatric cardiologist.Experience in special procedures assisting the pediatric cardiologists with sedated echocardiograms and transesophageal echo in the OR and cath lab.Experience and skill to instruct, train and educate health care providers in the assessment of congenital heart disease.Preferred QualificationsRDCS Certified, Pediatric Cardiology certification preferred or registry eligible with experience working within a pediatric cardiac ultrasound lab- acute setting strongly preferred (candidates will have 6 months to complete credentialing requirements).Experience in fetal echocardiography (preferred)Key Responsibilities70% – Clinical Services10% – Communication and Coordination10% – Research5% – Teaching/Continuing Education5% – Patient AdvocacyDepartment OverviewPediatric Heart Center has a dedicated team of pediatric cardiologists, pediatric cardiac thoracic surgeons, nurse practitioners, nurses, sonographers and healthcare professionals that specialize in diagnosing and treating pediatric cardiac conditions, including congenital heart disease in adults.
