Master Thesis: Social Impact Study of Climate Mitigation and Adaptation Measures

Your Job:As part of the on-going EU project – LOCALISED (https://www.localised-project.eu/), the research will evaluate how the mitigation and adaptation strategies impact different social groups, including vulnerable populations, and assess the potential for equitable climate action. The thesis work can be broken down into the following work packages:• WP1 – Quantifying the social impact of existing mitigation and adaptation measures, based on literature review• WP2 – Integration of the results of WP1 into an existing measure optimization model• WP3 – Use the model and data to analyze the regional impact of measures on socially-just adaptation and mitigation to climate changeYour Profile:• Very good academic record and currently enrolled in a master’s program in natural science, computer science, engineering or a related field of study• Very good Python (or other) programming skills• Good written and spoken English skills• High interest in environmental justice, public policy, and computer programming• You are highly motivated to work on the topic and able to work independently and analytically• You have a high degree of self-organization and time management skillsOur Offer:We work on the very latest issues that impact our society and are offering you the chance to actively help in shaping the change!
