CEHD’s research is guided by Nobel Laureate Professor James J. Heckman and includes a comprehensive array of interrelated projects and initiatives which promote a thorough empirical understanding of human flourishing. Unifying this research is an evolving idea that capacities and skills acquired over the lifecycle, starting at conception, transform many aspects of the life course at all stages, ranging from employment and earning prospects to overall health.Job SummaryThe Digital Marketing and Science Communication Manager will provide essential social media development, administrative and technical support for all research projects produced at the Center for the Economics of Human Development. Specifically, they will disseminate CEDH research papers, develop social media strategy and posts, support CEHD workshops, web design, and transcribe, copy edit, and assemble memos, papers for publication, reports, presentations, and grant proposals. Attention to detail is paramount. This position directly supports the Research Director and Executive Director, and is supervised by the Executive Director and Technical Editing Director.ResponsibilitiesCreate, curate, and manage social media content including text, audio, visual and multimedia formats.Develop, manage, and execute social media campaigns, website development, listservs, newsletters and events, social posts, and communications calendar.Translate and disseminate CEHD research findings, innovations and scientific knowledge to various audiences across email and social media platforms, with the support of research staff.Collaborate with design, research, web and administrative staff as related to projects, maintaining a consistent “voice” for the CEHD brand.Lead social media personnel (interns, staff, student workers) to execute and maintain media strategies.Provide comprehensive and responsive administrative and technical support for the Director and Executive Director, including ensuring the daily completion of work products and requests as well as project management with a particular focus on the Directors’ external, internal, and publication-related deadlines.Code, edit, and prepare (in LaTeX) complex academic manuscripts and other technical documents incollaboration/consultationwith the Directors, Technical Editing Director, and research team.Prepare materials for Director’s speaking engagements and classroom presentations and exams (e.g., slides using Beamer and PowerPoint).Plans, develops and disseminates information designed to keep the public informed of the organization’s programs, accomplishments, or point of view, with moderate levels of guidance and direction.Accomplishes assigned duties through two or more of the following: written communications; visual/graphic media, which may include Web site development and maintenance; avenues of digital communications and social media.
