Postdoctoral Scholar – Research Associate

**Job Description**
This position is for a Postdoctoral Scholar – Research Associate within the Department of Ophthalmology at the USC Roski Eye Institute. Under the supervision of Dr. Sun Young Lee, the role supports an NEI-funded multidisciplinary project focused on developing intraocular extracellular vesicle (EV) therapeutics for various retinal diseases. The research involves utilizing EVs as drug delivery carriers through surface modification for active targeting of diseased tissues, exploring cargo loading with target molecules, and investigating stem cell-derived EVs as a next-generation, cell-free cell therapy for retinal diseases. The position serves as a research trainee to enhance and develop research competencies.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Neuroscience
• Biology

Experience Required:
• 0-1 year (Ph.D.)
Other:
• Directly related education in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods.
• Preferred: 1+ years (at least two first author papers)
• Preferred: Experience in vision science, stem cell or extracellular vesicles (beneficial, not mandatory)
