The successful candidate will work on an exciting project focused on the development of a cryogenic hydrogen technology. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to commercialisation of ground-breaking research with significant implications for sustainable energy solutions.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the development of a cryogenic hydrogen technology from concept to prototype.Conduct in-depth design analysis for potential products to demonstrate and evaluate commercial potential of the technology.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including researchers, engineers, and industry partners.Develop and implement experimental protocols and procedures.Produce performance models, evaluate prototype performance, prepare technical reports, and present findings to stakeholders.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in cryogenic engineering.Qualifications:Ph.D. or equivalent experience/qualifications in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field.Proven experience in development and demonstration of novel engineering systems.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Demonstrated ability to manage projects and meet deadlines.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Candidates should apply through the University of Southampton vacancies webpage: https://jobs.soton.ac.uk/Vacancies.aspx .For inquiries or further information, please contact Prof. Edward Richardson at[email protected]or +44(238)594897.Equal Opportunity Employer: The University of Southampton is an equal opportunity employer.
