Clinical Assistant Professor – Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon-35191FacultyDescriptionUniversity of Colorado Anschutz Medical CampusDepartment: OrthopedicsJob Title: Clinical Assistant Professor – Pediatric Orthopedic SurgeonPosition #00828201 – Requisition #35191Job Summary:The Department of Orthopedics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking a part-time, on-call surgeon in the area of Pediatric Orthopedics to practice at Children’s Hospital Colorado-Colorado Springs and the CU Briargate Specialty Clinic for Children in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This position includes membership in the CU Briargate Center, a multispecialty pediatric clinic and CU School of Medicine cost center that includes faculty from multiple departments. The position is not eligible for benefits or tenure.Key Responsibilities:Manage simple and complex orthopedic traumas, including polytraumas, intra-articular fractures, pelvic fractures, and related reconstructive procedures.Provide attending call coverage and urgent surgical coverage for Colorado Springs Pediatric Orthopedic service.Provide fracture reductions in ER as needed, but not conscious sedation.Provide consultation services to Childrens Hospital Colorado colleagues and outside providers regarding care of orthopedic trauma patients.Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations on assigned patients; assesses and treats acute/chronic medical problems and provides direct patient care to a specified patient population. Write prescriptions for PT, OT, imaging studies, and DME as needed.
