The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.Position Summary InformationJob Description SummaryThe tempACBEInternational Business Program Specialist for the Argyros College of Business and Economics (ACBE) is responsible for re-envisioning the Schmid Center for International Business by creating a new mission and vision for the Center while developing programming to enhance our students’ international business experience.ResponsibilitiesCreate a new business plan for the Schmid Center for International BusinessAssess the ecosystem of Chapman and its academic programsDefine the Schmid Center’s purpose, pillars, and core offeringsDevelop a new mission and vision for the CenterEngage in discussions with other International Business Center Directors in the US and globally, with internal stakeholders such as key Chapman faculty members, and with a few global companies.Facilitate initiatives to re-launch the Schmid CenterCreate an Advisory Committee that includes a small group of key advisors to restart the Center.Explore export/import consulting projects where students, under faculty supervision, advise real-world small/medium-sized businesses.Explore collaborations with theACBECareer Center to generate internships/jobs in global businesses.Explore fundraising opportunities such as government grants, corporate sponsorships, private donations, etc.Explore academic collaboration for eventual student exchanges or research/services collaboration.Required QualificationsMaster’s degree or equivalent combination in education and experience.Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work with diverseindividuals and groups at all organizational levels, both within and outside the University.Proven ability to comprehend a process and take a given task from beginning to completion.Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare concise and grammatically correct business correspondence and other documents.Proven ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiency and accurately in a busy workenvironment with many interruptions.Strong analytical skills to assess situations, obtain appropriate information and make soundjudgment and independent decisions appropriate for the position level.Demonstrated attention to detail.Demonstrated tact and diplomacy and ability to maintain confidentiality.Strong organizational skillsMicrosoft Office Suite applications knowledge, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AdobeAbility to interpret and apply guidelines and proceduresAbility to demonstrate initiative without constant supervisionAbility to carry out duties in a timely manner and to prioritize duties when faced with interruptions, distractions, and fluctuating workloadStrong commitment to customer serviceStrong commitment to teamworkDesired QualificationsAt least 10 years of experience in international businessKnowledge of Argyros College programs, services, and processesSpecial Instructions to ApplicantsChapman University is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic global community.
