Faculty of Health and Life SciencesThis role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.This new full time post is available from immediately on a fixed term basis until 31 March 2026 (with a possibility of further extension, dependent on funding).We welcome applications from candidates who are interested inworking part-time hours (minimum 0.8 FTE) or job-sharing arrangements.Summary of the roleThe post will work within the National Institute for Health and care Research (NIHR) Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) South West Peninsula, usually referred to as PenARC, in the University of Exeter’s Faculty of Health & Life Sciences.The role will provide general and specialist administrative support across varied activities within the South West Peninsula’s Applied Research Collaboration (PenARC). One of 15 Applied Research Collaborations (ARCs) funded by the National Institute for Health and care Research (NIHR), PenARC is a large research group based across a number of organisations. We work closely with health and social care professionals, members of the public and local communities in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset to address immediate issues facing the health and care system through applied research and ensure the needs of our regional population are met.Key responsibilities for this role include: providing the PenARC Patient and Public Involvement Team and stakeholders (patients, carers and community members) with support relating to meeting attendance, thank you payments and travel arrangements; communications and information sharing about research involvement opportunities; and arranging meetings and events (online and offline) with patients, carers and members of the public. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work and communicate successfully with a broad range of stakeholders and audiences.While the primary focus of the role will be to support PenARC’s programme of involvement and engagement activities, the post holder will also be providing administrative support to the wider PenARC teams as appropriate and when needed.About the teamThis post is situated within the Project Support Team of PenARC. The team, which includes colleagues from the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth, provides operational, programme management, administrative and communications support to the wider PenARC research group.
