**Job Description**
This PhD position focuses on addressing the growing problem of pharmaceutical residues and micro-pollutants in wastewater by optimizing plasma technology. The research involves conducting further testing and systematic optimization of a hyperbolic vortex plasma reactor, which has shown high effectiveness and low energy requirements in degrading pharmaceuticals and PFAS. The goal is to extend its application to a wider range of pharmaceuticals under diverse operating conditions, ultimately improving oxidative degradation of priority pollutants.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Excellent, highly motivated and enthusiastic researcher
• Adequate experimental skills
• Adequate theoretical skills
• Affinity for water technology/process engineering
• Experience in high-voltage / plasma research (preferred)
• Knowledge of computational fluid dynamics (a plus)
• Strong organisational skills
• Strong communication skills

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Physics (MSc degree)
• Chemistry (MSc degree)
• Physical chemistry (MSc degree)
• Related fields (MSc degree)

**Experience**
Other:
