**Job Description**
LMU Munich’s Institute of Cardiovascular Physiology and Pathophysiology, part of the Biomedical Center (BMC), is dedicated to cardiovascular research, investigating the function of HCN channels in the heart and TPC/TRPML channels in the endolysosomal system. Dysfunction of these ion channels is linked to diseases such as lysosomal storage disorders, cardiac arrhythmias, and heart failure. The successful candidate will characterize ion channel functions using a variety of scientific methods, analyze experimental data, present results, contribute to scientific publications, and participate in teaching activities in Physiology.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Keen interest in patch-clamp techniques, molecular biology and biochemistry
• Practical experience in working with cell cultures (desirable)
• Basic willingness to work experimentally with laboratory animals (preclinical mouse models)
• Very good knowledge of English
• German is an asset (helpful for teaching)
• Organizational and team skills, flexibility, curiosity, responsible work ethics and a passion for research
• Interest in working independently on scientific questions
• Interest in teaching in the field of Physiology
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Pharmacy
• Biology
• Biochemistry
• Medicine
• Related natural science disciplines
**Experience**
Other:
• A Master’s degree (or comparable)
• Practical experience in working with cell cultures is desirable
• Basic willingness to work experimentally with laboratory animals (preclinical mouse models) is required
