**Job Description**
This position supports exciting research with ultracold atoms and trapped ions, focusing on creating complex machines and providing continuity and expertise to the QG&QI team. The role involves hands-on lab support for MSc students, PhD, and postdoctoral researchers across the QG&QI, QMat, and SM research clusters. Responsibilities include building new laser systems, assisting students with ultracold atom experimental setups, maintaining laboratory infrastructure, and ensuring a safe working environment. The successful candidate will also share knowledge, participate in outreach, and act as an expert consultant.

• Excellent command of English.
• Passion for physics, technology and science.
• Ability to quickly process and apply new knowledge and approaches in practice.
• Pro-active personality and a true troubleshooting mentality.
• Demonstrable experience of laser systems and optics.
• Experience gained in a research setting in atomic, molecular and optical physics.
• Knowledge and experience of automation and laboratory management (advantage).

Required Degree(s) in:
• Relevant field (Ph.D. or higher)
