**Job Description**
This Post-Doctoral Associate position is situated within a computational-molecular-microbiology laboratory, focusing on duties related to molecular biology, data analytics, and manuscript development. Key responsibilities include the development and implementation of advanced molecular assays with metagenomic samples, bioinformatic and statistical analysis of complex datasets, and the preparation of grants and scientific manuscripts. The role also involves establishing data-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols, and training graduate students in molecular techniques, bioinformatics, and statistical analysis.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong knowledge of R
• Experience navigating Linux-based servers through the command-line interface
• Attention to detail and strong capacity for organization of tasks and workflows
• Ability to work independently yet collaboratively
• Strong work ethic with demonstrated productivity
• Solid communication skills

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• PhD with a focus on bioinformatic and statistical analysis of microbiome, metagenomic, and/or WGS data
Other:
• Experience with basic molecular techniques
• Previous experience with life sciences research in livestock production, veterinary medicine, and/or microbial ecology (Preferred)
• Previous experience with advanced molecular biological techniques (Preferred)
