Develop a sustainable proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET)-based technology for efficient CO2 capture to mitigate climate change and achieve carbon neutrality. The research addresses challenges with current electrochemical carbon capture methods, such as high energy requirements and stability issues with bipolar membranes, by exploring PCET-based alternatives. The role involves designing, analyzing, and optimizing an electrochemical system for carbon capture, with a focus on electrode materials, separators for absorption and desorption processes, and strategies for scaling up, utilizing electrochemical and physical characterization methods and process modeling.
