**Job Description**
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for the Child Health Institute of NJ. The successful candidate(s), under the direction of a Principal Investigator, will be responsible for the design, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of experiments focused on the study of molecular mechanisms regulating synaptic transmission in mammalian brains and human neurons derived from human tissue. Postdoc(s) will engage in career development opportunities, participate in lab meetings, seminars, and conferences, and prepare manuscripts and grant applications.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Ability to work with rodent animals and human embryonic cells.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• High level of research competency, knowledge, and skills to perform assigned duties.
• Ability to assist in daily lab management, including training and direct oversight of personnel and students.
• Highly motivated, with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently under PI guidance.
• Excellent writing skills with experience in writing grants, fellowships, manuscripts, or scientific reports (preferred).

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Neuroscience
• Relevant biological sciences (PhD or MD)

**Experience**
Experience Required:
• Prior experience with cell culture, biochemistry, and cell imaging techniques.
Other:
• At least one first-author publication in peer-reviewed journals in biology-relevant fields.
