**Job Description**
The Clinical Research Assistant performs data collection duties, including electronic medical record chart review, and tracks patients longitudinally through therapy to identify key clinical timepoints for biospecimen collection. This role involves identifying appropriate patients from clinical schedules, discussing research studies, obtaining consent, supporting participant recruitment, and assisting in the collection of research data and specimens, coordinating with laboratory staff for time-sensitive biospecimen collection. The assistant may also participate in qualitative research, including administering questionnaires, conducting patient interviews, and leading focus groups. Responsibilities extend to tracking study communications, performing data entry, preparing study reports, maintaining accurate records, and conducting library research. The role provides support in planning and implementing programmatic activities, serves as a liaison, and promotes communication within the research team, clinicians, and community organizations. The assistant works closely with project coordinators, data analysts, biostatisticians, and principal investigators, attending team meetings, assisting with analysis, and participating in the planning, design, and execution of complex health services research studies. Further duties include conducting critical analysis of research literature, developing tools for new protocols, summarizing data for grant proposals and manuscripts, and performing other assigned tasks.
