**Job Description**
The Faculty of Theology at the University of Oslo announces a 4-year postdoctoral position focusing on Leadership, Ethics, and Counselling/Chaplaincy. The role is associated with expanding research in interreligious studies, chaplaincy in plural societies, and religious and worldview leadership within multicultural contexts. The successful candidate will dedicate 75% of their time to independent research and 25% to teaching and supervision within the Master’s program in Leadership, Ethics and Counselling/Chaplaincy (LES) and other faculty courses. This position aims to qualify researchers for scientific top positions.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Research competence in counselling/chaplaincy, religious and worldview leadership, or related areas.
• Research experience from qualitative or quantitative empirical research or hermeneutic methodological research.
• Research profile focusing on studies of religious and worldview leadership, counselling/chaplaincy, interreligious dialogue, philosophical practice, social encounters in plural contexts, or spiritual/existential care within secular humanist worldview, Islam, or Buddhism.
• Experience with teaching in diverse student groups (asset).
• Fluent oral and written skills in both English and Norwegian (or another Scandinavian language).
• Good collaboration skills and the ability to participate in academic communities.
• Experience with research and publication at an international level.

• Other relevant disciplines (PhD or equivalent academic qualifications, doctoral dissertation must be submitted for evaluation by deadline, employment contingent upon approval of public defense)
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• A minimum of two years of practical experience in a context relevant to the LES master’s program (e.g., prison, healthcare, parish, school, military, or similar) is desired.
Other:
• Applicants with a PhD obtained in the last 5 years will be given priority.
• Knowledge of the Norwegian and/or Nordic context related to relevant matters for the Master program.
• Knowledge of the field of counselling/chaplaincy in a Norwegian, Nordic, and European context.
