**Job Description**
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Laboratory Researcher IV for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. This position involves performing entry-level experiments using standard basic techniques in nutritional biochemistry and molecular biology for an externally funded research program. The role includes maintaining laboratory organization, safety protocols, record-keeping, supply management, instrument care, and cell culture procedures, all under close supervision. It also encompasses managing animal care protocols and providing technical assistance to lab members.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Facile use of: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Docs and Drive, mouse colony management software, Rutgers purchasing and marketplace platforms.
• Knowledge of equipment, tools and supplies to perform: DNA isolation, RNA purification, cDNA synthesis, Real Time PCR, SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting.
• Knowledge of temperature-sensitive samples and conditions requiring dry ice, liquid nitrogen and storage at -80 C.
• Knowledge of high speed centrifugation.
• Knowledge of working with acids, bases, flammable agents, enzymes, chemiluminescence, fluorescence, tissue fixatives and stains.

**Qualifications**

• Related scientific field
