**Job Description**
This Research Fellow position is part of the SUSTAIN programme, focusing on developing flexible batteries with seamless integration into textiles for revolutionary healthcare applications. The project aims to create completely safe, non-toxic, energy-dense, and lightweight batteries using water, lithium, and special polymer fabrics. Unlike traditional batteries, SUSTAIN batteries will operate with non-toxic lithium-conductive hydrated polymers, enabling high deformability and stretchability. The role involves collaborative work with textile designers, experts in printed electronics, wireless communications, and sustainability analysts to build working demonstrations of wearable textile electronics for continuous vital signal monitoring and immediate data transmission.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Chemistry
• Materials Science
• Closely related discipline

**Experience**
Other:
• PhD (awarded or imminent) or equivalent qualification and experience.
• For candidates nearing completion of a PhD, the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given, with Research Fellow applied upon successful PhD completion.
