**Job Description**
The Postdoctoral Associate will be responsible for the design, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of experiments focusing on the molecular mechanisms regulating synaptic transmission in the mammalian brain and human neurons. This role involves performing molecular, cellular, and electrophysiological experiments, participating in research seminars, preparing manuscripts, aiding in grant applications, and seeking personal grant funding.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Ability to work with rodent animals and human embryonic cells.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Highly motivated and independent.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently under the guidance of the PI.
• High level of research competency, knowledge, and skills.
• Prior experience with brain slice patch-clamp recordings and optical imaging (Preferred).
• Excellent writing skills with experience in writing grants, fellowships, manuscripts, or scientific reports (Preferred).
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Neuroscience
• Relevant biological sciences
Required: PhD or MD degree.
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• At least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
• At least one first-author publication in peer-reviewed journals in biology-relevant fields.
