**Job Description**
This position seeks Ph.D. researchers to discover qubits for future quantum information processing machines and embed them in scalable systems to advance quantum technology towards real-world applications. The role involves working at the interface of color center physics and integrated photonics, addressing key challenges through experiments focused on device design and characterization, delving into complex color center physics, and developing integrated photonic circuits for quantum applications.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Highly motivated for lab work in experimental physics and engineering.
• Demonstrated self-drive and team worker attitude.
• Demonstrated experimental skills in spectroscopy, quantum emitters, integrated photonics, or quantum integrated photonics (desirable).
• Expertise in color center or atomic physics research (desirable).
• Experience with cryogenic measurements (desirable).

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Physics
• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Related field

**Experience**
Other:
• Theoretical and/or experimental background in optics, integrated photonics, and/or quantum technologies.

Salary
Annual Salary: In accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, increasing monthly from the first to the fourth year based on a full-time contract (38 hours), plus 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
