**Job Description**
The postdoctoral fellow will join a collaborative group investigating stromal-epithelial crosstalk in colorectal cancer (CRC) initiation, progression, and therapy resistance, utilizing state-of-the-art single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNAseq) and spatial transcriptomics. The primary research focus involves defining how fibroblasts transition into distinct cancer-associated fibroblast (CAF) subtypes and how these regulate epithelial plasticity and immune responses to promote tumor progression and therapy resistance. This work integrates spatial transcriptomics, advanced co-culture organoid assays, and in vivo models. The role involves applying innovative bioinformatics approaches to dissect the tumor “ecosystem,” with emphasis on epithelial cells, CAFs, and immune cells, comprehensively profiling their heterogeneity, plasticity, and evolutionary dynamics within patient-derived tissue cohorts and human-relevant models. This joint position between the University of Luxembourg and KU Leuven contributes to the TARGET-SEC project, aiming to identify novel therapeutic strategies targeting pro-tumorigenic stroma-epithelial interactions in CRC.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Expertise in innovative bioinformatics approaches
• Experience with single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNAseq) data analysis
• Experience with spatial transcriptomics data analysis
• Ability to integrate data from various models (organoid assays, in vivo models)
