**Job Description**
The Research Fellow will conduct theoretical and computational research in nanomaterials, focusing on 2D materials such as ferroelectrics, multiferroics, topological materials, and moiré superlattices. The role involves developing and applying theoretical models, computational quantum chemistry, and machine learning methods to discover novel properties in low-dimensional material systems, contributing to NTU’s research in physics, materials science, and engineering.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Julia, Fortran, C++, MATLAB) and experience with high-performance computing environments
• Demonstrated publication record in reputable peer-reviewed journals
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Physics
• Chemistry
• Materials Science
**Experience**
Other:
• Technical experience in quantum chemistry, condensed matter physics, theoretical materials science.
• Familiarity with quantum chemistry (density functional theory) calculations.
• Working knowledge of condensed matter theory and theoretical materials science.
• Additional knowledge of areas such as 2D materials, ferroelectricity, multiferroics, topology, as well as other methods, such as molecular dynamics and machine learning methods, would be considered advantageous.
